Window Cleaning Telepole

Telescopic poles by reach

A telepole carries a squeegee or washer head up to glass you cannot reach standing. You clean exactly as you would by hand, just further away — which makes it the cheapest way to stop using a ladder, and the fastest to learn.

Buy for the building, not the maximum

A 9 metre pole is heavier at full extension and slower to handle on low work, so buy for the tallest window you actually clean regularly. Most domestic rounds are covered by 4 or 6 metres.

Where a telepole stops

Past about 6 metres, controlling a squeegee blade from the ground gets difficult and the finish suffers — you cannot see the stroke clearly and you cannot reach the pane to correct it. That is the point at which cleaners move to a waterfed pole, which feeds purified water to a brush head and needs no squeegee finish at all.
